Birthday Play Dough!

Hello, Georgie and I are going to make some birthday play dough today. This is my birthday week, and we're gonna make some sprinkle funfetti birthday play dough. We're so excited to have you join us today. The cool thing about this recipe is you can do this with homemade play dough, which is what we're gonna make today, or you can do a store bought play dough, whichever is easier for you and makes the most sense for your family.

We're going to start by adding a cup of water and 2 teaspoons of oil into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for about 2 minutes or until it is boiling hot. You can also do this on the stove and just do it till boiling.

Next you are going to add 2 cups of flour, 1/3 cup salt and 2 teaspoons of cream of tarter to the water. Mix it together until it forms into a ball. Once it starts forming together, dump it out on a counter and knead until all the flour is incorporated.

This is a super fun one to make for your kiddos birthday or for a fun way to celebrate your birthday with your kids.

Now you're gonna wanna let this sit and cool all the way before we add the sprinkles. If you spread it out thinner, it will cool quicker, but you can just leave it, in a ball too.

Once your play dough is cool you can start mixing in the sprinkles. Start with a small amount and knead them in until they are mixed. Keep adding sprinkles until you are happy with how it looks. It is important to make sure the play dough is cooled before adding the sprinkles, otherwise they will melt ad change the consistency of the play dough.

This play dough would also make a great easy party favor to give out at a child's birthday. I like to use these containers from the Dollar Tree to use for party favors. They are the perfect size for a party favor. You could add a sticker, or write on the top with a sharpie.

Thank you so much for joining us and finding some fun ideas to being able to connect through learning and play with your kids.
